Ms. Jawitz is the Company Controller responsible for overseeing the books and records of all Corporate and Upper Tier entities, preparing financial statements, forecasting/budgeting, financial reporting, and any other financial activity impacting the Penzance corporate entities.
Prior to joining Penzance, Ms. Jawitz served as Finance Director for an international education organization. She was responsible for management and oversight of the company’s accounting and finance department. She led the company through a restructuring and successful merger including systems and operational integrations as well as the acquisition of another education organization. Before that she was as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Tysons, VA and Miami, FL, where she conducted financial statement audits, including managing client relationships, analyzing financial data, assessing risk, devising and implementing testing strategies to assure completeness and accuracy under US GAAS, and providing guidance and expertise on financial statement reporting and disclosures.
Ms. Jawitz is an active member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York. She attended the University of Miami where she received her master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
